16.07.2010 First Energy Saving Center Opened in Russia.

The first Russia’s Energy Saving Center opened today in Yekaterinburg.

The opening resulted from yesterday’s Russian-German consultations with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
One of the project advantages is the use of energy efficient technologies and materials in construction and further use of the premises.

The world-renowned German BASF and Siemens are ready to help, and the Energy Saving Center was established in Akademia City as a scientific and technological basis for ongoing cooperation.
The Energy Saving Center received its first assignment from the Russian Minister of Regional Development Yury Osintsev - to promote the experience of Akademia City developers to other major cities and regions of Russia.

The opened ceremony was attended by Mr. Yury Shevelev, Minister of Energy of the Sverdlovsk Region, Mr. Mikhail Zherebtsov, Regional Minister of Construction and Architecture. Germany was represented by Mr. Thomas Hendel, General Director of RUDEA (Russian-German Energy Agency), and Mr. Sergey Andreev, Head of BASF Representation in Russia and the CIS. The ceremony was also attended by President of Ingushetia Yunus-bek Evkurov invited to Yekaterinburg by Governor Aleksandr Misharin in the framework of INNOPROM-2010.
Yesterday in the framework of Russian-German consultations, the cooperation agreements were signed between the leading German corporations BASF and Siemens and RENOVA StroyGroup. RENOVA StroyGroup is developing the largest residential project in Russia and Europe – Akademia City, where 9 mln. sq.m. of housing will be built by 2025.
