Akademia City is located in the south-west of Yekaterinburg within the square formed by Nachdiv Onufriyev Street (North-East), Barklay Street (North-West), Amundsen Street (South-East) and Yekaterinburg Ring Road (third transport circle). The total area of the district is 1300 hectares. The city-planning concept was approved by Mayor of Yekaterinburg on 19.06.06 (act No 500) and contains the following parameters:

• population – 325 000;
• residential real estate – 9.015 thousand m2;
• non-residential real estate – 4.420 thousand m2;
• number of car parking spaces – 160 000 (including 144 000 in underground parking lots);
• services enterprises and social establishments, including kindergartens (total capacity of 11 400 persons) and educational institutions (total capacity of 32 500 persons).
