As Akademia City will mainly offer economy and middle class housing, priority is given to public transport. To connect the district with existing traffic routes, high-speed transport lines will be constructed.

By high-speed tram (total length of the line 7,7 km) one will be able to reach the centre of Yekaterinburg from Akademia City in some 18 minutes. The line, installed on a separate roadway, will have priority at crossroads, which means that the ride will not be interrupted. In addition to the high-speed tram line, a regular tram line will connect the district with other parts of the city. Inside the district, trolley-bus and bus lines will be installed. Total length of the main street network of the district is expected to be about 35 kilometers.

Cross-sections of streets and roads are designed depending on the width of roadways and provide for the forecasted growth of number of cars after the year 2025. Special attention is given to design of junctions that serve as a gateway to the district. Efficient technical solutions will help to rule out traffic jams both in and around Akademia City.
